Install the Pinnote browser extension
For reviewing a site that has no Pinnote code on it. Until the extension is in the Chrome Web Store, it installs from a download in about a minute.

When you need it
Most sites have Pinnote's line of code, so reviewers need nothing at all. They open the link in their invite and comment. The extension is for the other case, a site the team can't add code to. With it, the same invite or share link brings up the Feedback button on that site.
Install it in Chrome
- Download the extension and unzip it. You get a folder called
pinnote-extension; keep it somewhere it won't be deleted, such as Documents. - Open
chrome://extensionsin the address bar and switch on Developer mode, top right. - Click Load unpacked and choose the unzipped folder. Pinnote appears in the list; pin it from the puzzle-piece menu if you'd like to see it in the toolbar.
Install it in Microsoft Edge
- Download the extension and unzip it somewhere it won't be deleted.
- Open
edge://extensionsand switch on Developer mode, at the bottom left. - Click Load unpacked and choose the unzipped folder.
Use it
Open the link from your invite email, or the share link the team sent you. The first time on each site, Pinnote asks whether to turn feedback on there. Choose Turn on and open the site, then allow it when Chrome asks, and the Feedback button appears in the corner. After that it comes back by itself whenever you visit that site. To stop, click the Pinnote icon in the toolbar and choose Turn off for this site.
The extension can't see sites you haven't turned it on for, and only talks to pinnote.app. Chrome may remind you that a developer-mode extension is installed; that's expected until it's in the store. Email support@pinnote.app with questions, or see the other guides.
